Refund policy

Last updated 27 September 2026

We want you happy with your kit. If something isn’t right, here’s how returns work. None of this affects your legal rights.

Changed your mind about an online order?

If you bought online, including click and collect, you can return items within 30 days of receiving them. Orders placed from 1 November can be returned until 15 January. You can also cancel before your order arrives.

1. Email sales@glovesoffclothing.com with your order number and what you’re returning, or use the cancellation form below.
2. Send the items back within 14 days of telling us, packed securely with your order number inside.
3. Post them to Gloves Off, 78/80 Rosslyn Street, Kirkcaldy KY1 3AB, or drop them into the shop.

You pay the cost of posting items back, unless they’re faulty or we sent the wrong thing. We recommend a tracked service. Returns brought into the shop cost nothing.

We check every return when it arrives. We’ll refund the price you paid within 14 days of getting the items back, or of you showing us proof of posting if that’s sooner. If an item has been used or damaged beyond what you’d need to check it, we’ll reduce the refund to reflect the value it’s lost and tell you why. If you return your whole order, we’ll also refund the standard delivery charge. Refunds go back to the way you paid.

Trying things on

Try things on as you would in a shop, and keep tags on. If an item has been used, or handled more than you’d need to check it, it’s worth less, and we’ll reduce your refund to reflect that.

- Skates: try them indoors, on a clean floor, with blade guards on. We’ll sharpen, profile or bake them once you’re sure of the fit. If you’ve skated on them, or had them heat-moulded, sharpened or profiled after they arrived, they can’t be sold as new, so the refund will be reduced by up to the full price, unless they’re faulty.
- Sticks: a stick that’s been cut, heated, taped or used can’t be sold again, so the refund will be reduced by up to the full price, unless it’s faulty. We can cut your stick in the shop once you’re sure of the length.

What we can’t take back if you change your mind

- Items personalised or made to your specification, such as printed names or numbers, sticks cut to your length, and special orders built to your spec.
- Mouthguards and other items sealed for hygiene reasons, once the seal is broken.
- Sharpening and profiling once we’ve done the work.

You’re still covered if any of these are faulty. Sale items bought online can be returned just like full-price items. Gift cards bought online can be cancelled within 14 days of purchase if they haven’t been used.

Faulty, damaged or not what you ordered

Get in touch with your order number and a photo or two, and we’ll pay to get it back to us.

- Within 30 days of receiving it, you can have a full refund.
- After 30 days, we’ll repair or replace it. If that isn’t possible or doesn’t fix the problem, you can have a refund, which may be reduced to reflect the use you’ve had if it’s been more than six months.
- If a fault shows up within six months, we’ll assume it was there when you got it, unless we can show otherwise.

Normal wear and tear, accidental damage and damage from misuse aren’t faults. If you’re not sure, talk to us.

Brand warranties

Many brands, including Bauer, CCM and Warrior, give their own warranty on things like sticks and skates, on top of your legal rights. If something fails, email us photos with your order number or bring it in, and we’ll handle the claim with the brand. The brand decides the claim under its own warranty terms.

Need a different size?

Bring it into the shop and we’ll swap it, or return it as above and place a new order.

Bought in the shop?

The law doesn’t give a right to change your mind about things bought in person, but we’re happy to exchange unused items or give a credit note within 30 days with proof of purchase. Sale items can be exchanged. Used skates and sticks can’t be returned unless they’re faulty. If something’s faulty, you have the same rights as above.
