'Alternative Medicine'

‘ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE’ is set in the waiting-room of a G.P.’s surgery, with the usual reception desk, chairs and table with magazines. At the beginning and end of the play, the time is the present. Between, we go on a ten-year journey of discovery with Enid Pringle, the receptionist. A ‘liberating’ experience for her, which includes green tea, cream cakes – and more.

This accessible and entertaining show blends humour and poignancy delivering the message that ‘life should be fun’, and ‘it’s never too late’.
Meet Mrs.Harris, the cleaner ... who is game for anything.
Join Enid Pringle, the receptionist who isn’t … but whose eyes are opening.
Laughter, tears, repeat prescriptions ... just another day at the doctor's surgery?
Follow Enid on her helter-skelter journey of self-discovery ... it's a bit of an 'eye-opener'!
“If you like Alan Bennett, you’ll love this – and you’ll find nothing more charming or life-affirming. It’s just what the doctor ordered."

“Patricia Hartshorne faultlessly conjures the lonely figure of Enid Pringle”
